The influence of medias on masses

These last couple of weeks, this video has made a buzz on the web, especially, when we see the importance of the topic that it's treating. In fact, It's talking about the end of the United European Currency, and the consequences that might follow this decision. And seeing what's happening recently in Europe, this video looked true. However, it's just a Fiction, a Simulation.
If we get a little back to the past, to the 30th of October on 1938, we can see that something similar happened during the Era of dominance of the Radio Broadcasting. As a matter of fact, Orson G. Welles broadcast on CBS an adaptation of the novel "the War of the worlds" that created a huge panic in the american society at that time.
By seeing these two examples, we can see huge influence of media on the masses. In fact, they can easily set up the ideas of the population. In fact, it's mainly the media who set the norms for the population and furthermore, they are also the basis for their views.
I do think that we should think critically whenever media presents a bench of information to us. In fact, the media are not as independent as they might appear to be. Furthermore, they may also give biased information, of the disturbance in the process of communication may cause a huge misunderstanding that may lead to a huge panic.
